This legislation is intended to create more open and accountable public authorities by providing greater rights of access to information. The Act places a duty on both the Assessor and the Board (who are defined as separate public authorities) to produce Publication Schemes dealing with the availability of information in their possession.
The Assessor and Board Schemes are available by clicking on these links and have been revised with effect from 1 July 2009. Both Schemes have been approved by the Freedom of Information Commissioner.
Each scheme provides that certain “Classes of Information” are available free of charge (subject to postage etc costs) or freely available from this
website. There are links within each Scheme to take you to the appropriate pages and you can download the Adobe PDF © files of both Schemes if you wish.
Some information is available only at a charge, details of which are contained in the
Publication Schemes. Where a charge is made for a copy of information it can however be inspected free of charge at the Board’s offices if it is not available online.
