The Grampian Valuation Joint Board was invited to
participate in the Best Value initiative by way of SODD Circular
11/1999. This called for a Submission covering four specific areas
- A self assessment of the Joint Board’s compliance with the
essential elements of Best Value;
- A demonstration of how the Joint Board achieves value for money in
those areas formerly subject to the CCT process;
- A comprehensive service review schedule; and
- A framework for the development of Public Performance Reporting (PPR)
and an implementation plan to May 2001.
The Joint Board approved the Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) which would be used in connection with PPR in relation
to the Valuation Service at its meeting on 7 July 2000. The Board
subsequently decided (June 2002) to make this information available on
its web-site in fulfilment of the requirement to develop PPR.
Performance targets were reviewed by the Board for the period 2003/04 – 2005/2006 and at its meeting on 7 July 2006 set revised targets for 2006/2007. At its meetings on 29 June 2007 and 20 June 2008 the Board agreed to maintain existing targets. These will however be reviewed for 2009/2010.
The Board’s Public Performance Report for 2007/2008 is available here and includes a report by the Assessor, comments on Electoral Registration matters and Revaluation Appeal disposal.
Further details of
performance for 2007/2008 are provided here together with comment on the
comparisons with previous years and the performance targets.
